STMicroelectronics Introduces 0.25°C Precision Temperature Sensor

0.25°C typical measurement accuracy, low operating current, low standby current, STMicroelectronics' new STTS22H temperature sensor can improve asset tracker, container transport recorder, HVAC HVAC system, air humidifier, refrigerator, building automation system And temperature and heat flow monitoring for devices such as smart consumption.

The STTS22H is compatible with the I2C and SMBus 3.0 buses and offers a variety of flexible operating modes, including a minimum rate of 1 Hz configurable output data rate (ODR) and a power-saving single measurement mode. The interrupt pin supports the SMBus Alert Response Address (ARA). . If the measured value exceeds the upper or lower temperature limit set by the user, the temperature sensor acts as a slave on the SMBus and will send a request signal to the application via the interrupt pin. The device address of the I2C/SMBus can be set, and up to two STTS22H sensors can be connected to the same bus.

The power consumption of the STTS22H sensor is very low. The 1Hz ODR mode consumes only 2.0μA, and the periodic single measurement consumes only 1.75μA, which helps to extend the battery life of the battery-powered device. In standby mode with the serial port turned off, the STTS22H consumes only 0.5μA (typ) of current. The 1.5-3.6V operating voltage range allows the sensor to use a variety of power sources (such as small lithium batteries).

The sensor handles very fast, with a conversion time of 5ms and provides 16-bit temperature data. The package has a very low thermal resistance metal block to ensure fast measurement of ambient temperature. The sensor is calibrated at the factory, in the range of -10 ° C to 60 ° C, with a typical accuracy of 0.25 ° C, without user calibration.

The STTS22H is available now in a compact 2.0mm x 2.0mm x 0.5mm 6-lead UDFN package.
